Substation Engineering Department


DESIGN ENGINEER

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Realtime Utility Engineers, Inc. in Marlborough, MA seeks a Design Engineer. Responsible for the overall design and engineering of substations as assigned from schematic phase through final construction drawings and project completion. Perform distribution and transmission of Substation Electrical Engineering services to electric utility clients requiring a sound working knowledge of utility substation designs & standards up to 500kV. Provide Substation Electrical Design for projects such as: relay upgrades, breaker additions/upgrades, transformer replacements, remote terminal units (RTUs) installations, and metering. Provide physical design for projects such as: bus additions, new equipment installations, above and below-grade layouts.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field and 2 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Design Engineer, or in a related occupation. The applicant must also have professional experience in: the protection and control systems of high voltage substations; the operation and equipment used in the design of high voltage substations; the essential electrical codes for the design, operation, and construction of high voltage substations; the creation of substation one-line, schematics, and wiring diagrams from client/vendor requirements, specifications, and equipment drawings; and the creation of physical drawings, including layouts, sections and details, used for the construction of high voltage substations.

SALARY:
$68,200 – $75, 000/year.
