Realtime utilizes the most advanced LiDAR survey technology for the evaluation of existing transmission lines and for route/design determination of new transmission lines. Collecting millions of survey data points, with accuracy within inches, LiDAR technology enables rapid analysis of lengthy transmission lines. When incorporated with PLS-CADD, this technology facilitates prompt engineering and remediation solutions.

LiDAR Surveying Facts

  • LiDAR surveys provide absolute accuracy (10 cm vertical – 15 cm horizontal)
  • Relative accuracy 3–5 cm
  • Point density is 10,000 pts/sec, 20 pts/sq meter
  • Class I, eye safe laser

  • Corridor width – 150’ (300’ with limitations)
  • Multiple passes can be made
  • Capacity – 75 miles of LiDAR survey per day
  • GPS base station ground control 10–15 miles apart
  • 4–6 GPS base stations to provide high degree of accuracy
