Lordstown Energy Center 345kV Substation

Realtime with Quanta Services partner M.J. Electric provided engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for a new 345kV interconnect substation and a 345kV collector substation.

Complete engineering and design for the facilities required to successfully interconnect a new natural gas fired, combined cycle power generation facility, producing a maximum power output of nine hundred forty megawatts (940 MW) with the local utilities transmission system.  The interconnection was achieved via one (1) 345kV collector bus station and a separate 345kV switch-yard (Interconnect).

The collector switch-yard consisted of (4) 345kV breakers which connected the output of the three (3) generators to the Interconnect yard.  New line, differential, and breaker protection was designed for installation in a new control house.

The interconnect substation consisted of (5) 345kV breakers which connected to (4) lines and collector yard. New line and breaker protection was designed for installation in a new control house.
